Schedule Visits on Set Weekdays
Serve a customer on fixed days of the week — twice a week on Monday and Thursday, for example — instead of every set number of days.
Updated September 30, 2026
Some customers need service on fixed days of the week — a commercial account cleaned twice a week on Monday and Thursday, for example. The Set weekdays scheduling mode pins a work type's visits to the days you choose, where Fixed interval would drift across weekdays (every 3 days is 2⅓ visits a week, on different days every week).
Set the work type's schedule
Open SettingsWork Types and expand the work type. Under Scheduling, set Mode to Set weekdays. Pick the Service days (Sun–Sat), and set Repeats to Every week or a longer cycle like Every 2 weeks. The Scheduling section's summary line confirms the mode — for example Set weekdays · Auto-create jobs.
Choose the automation
Set Automation to Auto-create jobs to have visits created on the chosen days automatically, or Recommend only to keep creation manual. Save.
Quote it (optional)
New quotes for this work type inherit the schedule — the quote builder's Contract Setup shows the default, and a per-visit rate line multiplies by the true visit count for the term. To override one deal, use Switch to set weekdays next to Visit interval (days) in Contract Setup, or type an interval to use days instead. Quote and contract templates offer the same switch.
Or create the contract directly
On a new contract under Sales and BillingContracts, the Service days chips appear in place of Visit interval (days) when the work type uses Set weekdays. Adjust the days or the repeat cycle for this contract if needed.
Or switch a contract that already exists
Open the contract under Sales and BillingContracts and press the pencil beside Visit Interval. Choose Set weekdays from the schedule menu, which also offers Fixed interval and Set frequency. Pick the Service days, set Repeats, and press Save. Use this for the customer who is the exception, such as an imported contract or one approved on a day interval. Next Job moves forward to the next chosen day.
Days stay put
Each visit is created on the next chosen weekday. If one visit moves — a company holiday, a route change, a make-up visit — the following visit still lands on the next chosen day. On a fixed interval, one moved visit shifts every visit after it.
Choosing Fixed interval replaces the weekdays
A Set weekdays contract also stores a day number (the typical gap between visits) for older screens. On the contract, choosing Fixed interval in the Visit Interval editor and saving switches it to that plain day interval, even when the number is unchanged. The edit form names the schedule it replaces before you save.
Recommend Only and Needs Job
With Recommend only, nothing is created for you, so Jobs → Needs Job is where the office sees what to book. A site on set weekdays is judged per service day: it stays listed while any service day from its last visit through the next few days has no visit of that work type booked on that day. A booked Monday no longer hides Thursday.
- The row shows the day to book — Due Thu, Oct 8, Due today, or Missed Mon, Oct 5 for a service day that passed with nothing booked — and the days already Booked. Create Job opens New Job on that day.
- "The next few days" is the look-ahead under SettingsAutomationsJobs → Recurring Schedule Creates Visits (Create Jobs up to 3 calendar days by default). It never reaches past one week of the schedule, so each service day is asked about once. Raise it to 7 to book a whole week at a time.
- Seasons and company holidays count: a winter Monday-only schedule never asks for Thursday, and a Monday holiday is due on Tuesday.
- A visit moved to another day still counts for the service day it was booked for.
- On the site page, Create Job is refused only when every service day in the next full week of the schedule (counted from the day after the last visit, or today) is already booked. A Monday-only site whose Monday is booked or done opens New Job on next Monday. On New Job, picking a day that already has a visit of that work type shows a warning; it does not stop you.
Where the old rule still applies
Lake and pond treatment, contracts on a day interval or a number of visits, and companies with route adherence turned on keep the one-open-job rule: any scheduled, delayed, or in-progress job hides the site.
Create a Week of Visits With the Job Creator
With Recommend only, the Job Creator books many service days at once. It only recommends until you confirm, and it works for any work type your account has turned on, such as Routine Service.
Open the Job Creator
On Jobs, click the Soliven button in the corner and choose Create Jobs. From the Needs Job tab, the run is limited to the sites on that list.
Pick the work type and the dates
Choose the work type and a Time Window, for example Monday to Sunday of next week. You can also assign a crew to every job in the run.
Review the service days
A site on set weekdays gets one row for each service day in the window that has nothing of that work type booked. A Tuesday-and-Friday pool shows a Tuesday row and a Friday row, and never a Monday. A Monday-and-Thursday pool whose Monday is booked shows Thursday. Days before today, days outside the contract's start and end dates, and weekdays the current season does not use (a winter Monday-only schedule has no Thursday) are never offered; a missed service day is booked from Needs Job. Two contracts at one site never offer the same day twice, and a contract for another work type at the same site (a green-pool treatment, say) or an older interval contract never replaces the service days with a single guessed date.
Select and confirm
Untick any rows you do not want. A service-day row's date is fixed and shows the weekday. It is created on that day, and a group date leaves it alone. Rows for other schedules keep an editable date. Press Next, check the summary, and press Create (the button counts the jobs).
If a day was booked after the list was built, that row is skipped — already booked and the rest of the batch carries on. The summary lists each skipped site and day, and the counter reads, for example, 3 created · 1 skipped of 4. Nothing is booked on a day that already has a visit of that work type. If a row fails for any other reason the run stops there; the jobs already created are saved, and Retry from site picks up at that row.
Rows the Job Creator does not split by day
A contract on a day interval or a number of visits still gets one row per site, dated from the contract's Next Job or the first business day of your dates, never outside the contract's term — unless the same site also has a set-weekdays contract for that work type, whose service days then decide the site. Lake, pond and equipment (fountain) work, and companies with route adherence on, keep one row per site as before.
Verify it worked
Open the contract: Visit Interval reads as the weekday schedule, for example Twice weekly (Mon & Thu), and Next Job falls on one of the chosen days. Once the scheduler runs, Schedule shows the visits landing only on those days, and a per-visit plan lists Visit 1 of N slots dated on them.
After a Job Creator run, open the Job Creator again for the same dates: the days you created are gone from the list, and Schedule shows one visit per service day.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between "Fixed interval" and "Set weekdays"?
Fixed interval schedules the next visit a set number of days after the last one, so the weekday drifts — every 3 days lands on different days each week. Set weekdays pins visits to the days you choose, so a twice-a-week customer is always served on the same two days.
What about a count like twice a month, without naming the days?
That is a third schedule, Set frequency. See [Schedule a Number of Visits per Week or Month](/help/scheduling-and-jobs/schedule-a-number-of-visits-per-period). When a contract's schedule disagrees with the work type, the contract decides what gets created; the work type still decides whether auto-create runs.
Can I switch one existing contract to set weekdays without changing the work type?
Yes. Open the contract, press the pencil beside Visit Interval, choose Set weekdays, and pick the days. Only that contract changes. New contracts still follow the work type.
A visit got moved for a holiday. Does the whole schedule shift?
No. Only that one visit moves. The next visit is still created on the next chosen weekday, so the customer's service days never rotate.
Can I serve a customer on Saturday?
Yes. Days you choose are service days by definition, so a Saturday on the schedule stays on Saturday. Company holidays still move an individual visit.
Monday is booked. Why is the site still on Needs Job?
A set-weekdays site needs a visit on every service day, so it stays on Needs Job until each service day in the next few days has a visit of that work type booked on that day. The row says which day is due, for example "Due Thu, Oct 8". Book Thursday and the site drops off.
Why does the Job Creator list the same pool twice?
A set-weekdays site gets one row for each service day in your dates that has nothing booked, so a Tuesday-and-Friday pool shows a Tuesday row and a Friday row. Each row is created on its own day; untick the days you do not want.
How does this price a per-visit rate?
The quote and contract multiply the rate by the real number of chosen-day visits in the term. Twice a week over four weeks is 8 visits, and the customer's document shows that math.
